Golf as a Moving Meditation

As I sit here in Orlando after a long drive from Colorado, my body is tired—but my soul feels alive. This pilgrimage is more than a change in geography; it’s a journey deeper into Presence itself.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how golf and meditation are not so different. Both invite us into stillness. Both ask us to quiet the restless mind and meet this moment with full attention.
On the golf course, when we stop striving, stop forcing, and simply breathe into the now, we touch something sacred. The swing becomes a prayer. The walk between shots becomes meditation in motion. Every sound, every breath, every blade of grass becomes part of the great unfolding of Presence.
And in that moment—whether we’re on a fairway or a meditation cushion—we remember: the goal isn’t perfection, it’s union.
Golf and meditation both mirror the same truth: what we seek has never been outside of us. It’s here, in the quiet awareness that watches, feels, and loves without judgment.
So whether you’re teeing off or sitting in silence this week, I invite you to pause. Take one conscious breath. Feel your feet on the ground. Notice the aliveness that’s always been within you.
That’s the game within the game. That’s the real pilgrimage. That’s Presence.
